Meet pastor David
Lead Pastor David Welch
Since 2001, Pastor David Welch has served as Lead Pastor of Bear Creek Church, guiding the church through a season of remarkable growth and transformation. Under his leadership, Bear Creek relocated and expanded its campus—an intentional move that extended the church’s reach and led to thousands embracing new life in Christ. His ministry is marked by a deep commitment to servant leadership and a passion to make God’s love real for everyone, everywhere.
Pastor David’s preaching is known for being practical, biblically grounded, and full of hope. A Texas native with roots on a family farm in the Panhandle, he holds a B.A. from Texas Tech University, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has pursued further study at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. David shares life with his wife, B.J., and they delight in their two adult daughters, Julie and Jennifer, son-in-law Stephen, and three grandchildren who bring them great joy.
