Pastor Iván García was born in Santa Clara, Cuba, under the communist regime. He put his faith in Christ when he was a teenager and in 2003 he graduated from Baptist Theological Seminary in Havana, Cuba. Then in 2007 he was accredited as a Licentiate in Theology at the "Luis Manuel Gonzáles Peña" Baptist Theological Seminary in Santa Clara. He worked as a pastor in Matanzas, Havana and Mayabeque, Cuba. He most recently served as Pastor in Spanish and a member of the leadership team for Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He is currently pursuing a master's degree at Dallas Theological Seminary. He and his wife Yanexy celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this year and have two daughters and a son: Lauren, Leidi and Jacob.
