"It's the thought that counts…" except that it usually doesn't. But God's thoughts do count—and they can change everything.
Psalm 40:17 says, "As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me." God's simple attention to the needs of our lives changes things in ways that even our most strenuous efforts can't.
So turn your thoughts to the Lord's thoughts of love and grace for you. And finish Psalm 40's prayer with confidence: "You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God!"
