Word of Encouragement from Scott Bertrand, Adult Ministry Pastor
So much of our daily happiness depends on where we seek our satisfaction. Is it attainable? Will it actually satisfy us even if we have what we think we want? At the close of Psalm 17, David prays, “As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness” (Psalms 17:15). Ultimately, we can only find enduring satisfaction in enjoying the beauty of the glory of God. And so, when you find your heart disappointed by happiness that can’t last or can’t live up, turn to look and see God’s glory shining in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6). Start each morning turning your heart back to Christ, to be satisfied in him. And have hope that on the last morning, you will wake eternally, and you’ll behold Jesus’ face forever—satisfied forever.
