Word of Encouragement from Kyle Wassom, Student Ministry Pastor
Have you ever faced something so massive in your life that it seems like there’s no way around it? I love the story of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea in Exodus 14 because that’s exactly what happened. They had just left Egypt and were free from bondage and captivity! However, they reach the Red Sea, and Pharaoh and his army show up to try and put them back in chains. What a rollercoaster of emotions, right? To go from immense joy to paralyzing fear. They begin to freak out and cry out to God.
Moses speaks up and lets the people know that “The Lord will fight for you” (v. 14). Brothers and sisters, we have the King of the Universe fighting for us. When our hearts are tempted to fear because of the “Red Sea” in front of us, remember that Almighty God is with us and the battle is His!
