The Bear Creek Church Kids Ministry is currently seeking someone who is extremely organized, planner, forward thinker, and data processor to help keep the team on track.



Title:

Kids Ministry Assistant (Grades 1-5)

 

Principal Function:

To manage and provide resources that facilitate reaching, discipleship, and development programs.


Work Relationships:

Reports to the Kids/Family Ministries Pastor.

Works closely with other Kids Ministry staff.

Cooperates with other department leaders.


Position Information:

Part-time Salaried / 28+ hours/week

 


Qualifications

 

Call

Serving the church is more than a job, it’s a calling (2 Timothy 1:8-14). We expect you to be committed to following Jesus (Matthew 10:38-39) with a passion for the gospel that compels you towards a life of service to grow the church.

 

Character

Your character is the distinct mental and moral qualities evidenced in your life. We expect our staff to be growing spiritually through personal spiritual disciplines/habits like Bible study, prayer, personal evangelism, stewardship/tithing, etc. You should not only seek to do what is right (James 4:17), but also avoid even the appearances of sin or things that cause others to struggle (1 Thessalonians 5:12-24). As a growing Christ-follower we expect you to be a part of the church participating in worship services and a discipleship group (Hebrews 10:24).

 

Competence

Chemistry

We strive to create an encouraging environment building one another up in unity (Ephesians 4:1-16). We expect staff to be self-motivated, efficient, and dependable (Colossians 3:23). Confidentiality regarding personnel, staff, and church business is required. A strong and healthy team is everyone’s responsibility.

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist Kids Ministry with emails, publications, development of materials, and proofreading.

  • Enter attendance records as needed.

  • Create reports from CCB maintaining accurate records (volunteers/attendance/other).

  • Update and print all Sunday morning materials as needed.

  • Assist Kids Ministry staff with recruiting/training volunteers with administrative support and event set up.

  • Ensure accurate attendance records are completed at ministry programs/events.

  • Attend staff meetings and provide detailed reports as requested.

  • Assist Kids Ministry team in planning, projects, and special events.

  • Maintain and update the calendar weekly.

  • Order supplies and enter purchase orders following financial policies and practices.

  • Interact and engage with staff, volunteers, parents, and children to build Christian relationships and provide ongoing encouragement.

 

Complete other duties as assigned.

 


Ministry Qualifications

 

  • Good organizational and people skills.

  • Independent thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Ability to quickly learn new computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint, Canva and CCB.

  • Typing and data entry skills.

  • Help facilitate social media platforms.

  • Preferred: Preschool teaching experience, CPR and First Aid Certification.
