The Idea:
Peace may not be what you think peace is. That’s why you keep missing it. That’s why you struggle to experience it.
22 When Gideon saw that he was the angel of the LORD, he said, “Alas, O Lord GOD! For now I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.”
23 The LORD said to him, “Peace to you, do not fear; you shall not die.”
24 Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD and named it The LORD is Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
Let This Peace In:
1. When you realize what it is
Judges 6:24 "Then Gideon built an altar … and named it The LORD is Peace."
Shalom Peace
Peace is NOT the absence of strife or hard things.
It’s a spiritual wholeness that is NOT shaken or defeated by hard or difficult things.
2. When you are awed by God
Judges 6:22 "For now I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.”
3. When you come to know its source
Judges 6:24 "The LORD is Peace."
Romans 5:1 “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”
4. When you learn its practice
"The steadfast of mind
You will keep in perfect peace,
Because he trusts in You."
