We were blessed again today to hear from Guest Speaker Wes Wilkinson, College Minister from Central Baptist Church in College Station. Last Sunday, Wes shared the story of Elijah and Ahab in 1 Kings 18:16-40. Today he continued with Elijah's journey.
Truths from 1 Kings 19:
Discouragement is a reality we are going to face.
God is the God of all comfort who graciously cares for his discouraged followers.
We must earnestly seek his comfort.
When you are discouraged and weary, are you prone to run towards God or are you prone to seek comfort in other things that can be a quick fix?
When you run towards God and want to hear from Him. Remember:
It may take time.
It may be quiet.
It may necessitate that we go alone.
God calls us to obey His word whether we see results or not. We obey because of Who He Is. We are to be zealous for His Name.
