9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The Name: The Ultimate Name
Jesus Christ as Lord
The Big Idea:
His ultimate name must have an ultimate effect on how you know Him;
and on your identity; and how you live your life.
Jesus Christ as LORD
1. His name is the highest name
“God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name.”
2. His name should radically reorient you
“… every knee will bow … and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD …”
Inviting His Lordship into Your Life
Declare Him Lord over your life Romans 10:9-10
Give Him first place in everything Colossians 1:17-18
Give up whatever conflicts with Christ as Lord Philippians 3:7-8
Live obediently to Him Luke 6:46
