Why We Give to the Gospel
"32 Do not be afraid, little flock, because your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom.
33 “Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor does a moth destroy. "
Luke 12:22–34 (NASB)
The Idea:
The gospel brings me into a life-changing relationship with Jesus; and this relationship deeply affects my relationship to money.
How the Gospel Changes My Relationship with Money
1. Seek His Kingdom
"But seek His kingdom, and these things will be provided to you. "
Luke 12:31
2. Live like He has given you the Kingdom
"Do not be afraid, little flock, because your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom. "
Luke 12:32
3. Let it produce an inexhaustible treasure
“Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor does a moth destroy."
Luke 12:33
"9 Honor the LORD from your wealth And from the first of all your produce; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty …"
Proverbs 3:9–10 (NASB)
