Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!
The crowds proclaimed with raised voices that Jesus had come in the name of Lord. What a celebration it must have been as they shouted their praises to Him, the Son of David, the promised Messiah, the one who saves. There is an indescribable joy you experience when you truly recognize who Jesus is and what He has done for you. The world views joy as a feeling of happiness, an emotion you experience when you have success or good fortune. But believers know that real joy is rooted not in our successes but in what Christ has done. He came to this world and through His willing sacrifice, provides redemption for all who will place their trust in him. During this Advent season, we can rejoice because the Messiah came as promised and is our source of true joy.
Father, thank you for being the source of the indescribable joy we experience. Thank you for the greatest gift ever given to this world, Jesus Christ.
