For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Many years before the first Advent, Isaiah told God’s people that the Messiah would arrive as a child, and He would be the Prince of Peace. Their world did not look peaceful then just like our world doesn’t always seem peaceful now. Yet, believers do have peace because this child, whose birth we celebrate at Christmas, provided the way to restore our relationship with God. Once we are in Christ, the Prince of Peace shows us that He can bring peace into our lives wherever He rules. He can bring peace to us in all of life’s victories and defeats. Jesus can provide peace in every area of life. So, trust Him with your relationships, finances, health, family, and career. Every minute of every day, you can be assured that Jesus Christ can provide you with His peace that surpasses all understanding in every area of your life. Trust Him.
Lord, you are Eternal Father and Mighty God. Thank you for also being our Prince of Peace. Help us always to remember that we can navigate all of life’s difficulties and trials with confidence and calm knowing that you are on your throne and in control.
