Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
How could our hearts ever be troubled, knowing we cannot begin to fathom how much our Lord loves us, even enduring the shame of our sins on the cross, making a way for our assurance of an eternal home in the “Father’s house”?
The “place” our Lord promised to prepare for us, by making provision for our forgiveness through His death and resurrection, will be our eternal “rooms” in our Father’s house (John 14:2-3 NASB1995). Then the whole family of God will hear our Father’s loving voice, and we “will see His face” and the love in His eyes! (Revelation 22:4 NASB1995)
But our “rooms” of peaceful refuge, to which we “will be caught up,” protected from chaos of the Tribulation, will precede Christ’s Millennial reign (Isaiah 26:20 NASB1995; 1 Thessalonians 4:17 NASB1995). Then we will enjoy the “many rooms” in our “Father’s house” after Christ’s Millennial reign. Best of all, we will hear our Father’s loving voice and “will see His face” in “a new heaven and a new earth,” unstained by sin! (John 14:2 NASB1995; Revelation 22:4 NASB1995, Revelation 21:1-2 NASB1995)
So, how should we now live, to show others that our “citizenship is in Heaven,” and that we are living for our Lord’s glory, not for this world’s sinful desires and standards? (Philippians 3:20 NASB1995)
In the Bible’s loving commands like 1 Peter 1:15 NASB1995, 2 Peter 3:14 NASB1995, 1 John 2:28-29 NASB1995, 2 John 1:8-11 NASB1995, and Revelation 16:15 NASB1995, God urges us to live holy and blameless in all our conduct, proving that we believe Jesus could rapture us up at any moment!
Jesus urges us, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments,” yet our fleshly tendency is to downplay the importance of obedience (John 14:15 NASB1995). Obedience is the most powerful love language that communicates true love for our Lord. Jesus literally could “raise us up,” “in the clouds,” at any moment! (1 Thessalonians 4:17 NASB1995; Hosea 6:2 NASB1995) Therefore, let’s live each day with eager expectation, overflowing with the fruit of the Holy Spirit!
Oh Lord, we celebrate your call to always be “perfecting holiness” in how we live. We commit ourselves afresh to obey you more! We love you, Lord. Amen.
