Blessed By Grace
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)
Grace is a Covering
From the very beginning, God’s grace has been a covering over our brokenness. In Genesis 3:8-10, after Adam and Eve sinned, they hid in shame. Yet in Genesis 3:21, we see that God, in His grace, covered them. This was a foreshadowing of the ultimate covering—Jesus' sacrifice for us.
Grace is Free and Free-Flowing
Ephesians 1:7 reminds us that grace is not something we can earn—it is freely given through Jesus Christ. No amount of good works can make us deserving of salvation; it is purely a gift from God.
Grace is Unlocked Through Faith
While grace is freely given, it is unlocked through faith. This means trusting in God’s goodness, even when we feel unworthy. Faith is our response to grace, leading us into a life of gratitude, awe, and surrender.
How Should We Respond?
Because of God’s grace, we are called to:
✔ Live in gratitude – Recognizing that everything we have is a gift.
✔ Stand in awe – Worshiping God for His never-ending mercy.
✔ Surrender fully – Trusting Him with our lives, knowing we don’t have to strive for salvation.
